By ToolmanJohn
I use these only for mountain biking. Comparatively, my old Lake MXZ301 boots were always a too narrow, and I had to wear thin socks for correct fit , otherwise I would have had to buy a much longer (larger size) shoe. So I put up with cold toes, although they were very water proof for splashing through streams and mud.
Looking at all the various new Winter boots out there, I saw that Lake finally offerd a wide version of this boot , the new Lake MXZ303-wide. I purchased one European size over my standard size (43 , I usually wear 42). Well, the cost is definitely up there, but performance wise they are outstanding. I have worn these shoes in 20 degree weather, using a very heavy pair of wool socks, and they are WARM... The new BOA lacing system works great so far, no problems like some others have reported. I don't cinch them extremely tight.
I hope they hold up for at least 10 years. I only use them about 20 times a season riding in the Winter when the ground is clear and frozen.
